Use Customer sync filters to choose which Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central customers Paystand imports automatically. Existing connections stay on the full customer list until you change them. This guide shows how to limit automatic import to customers with an outstanding receivable, and how to switch back.
Important: This changes automatic sync only. Customers already in Paystand stay. You can still import a specific customer or invoice.

Before you start
- Business Central credentials are verified and bank and G/L accounts are saved. Until then, Customer sync filters stays locked (Available after verifying, then until accounts are saved).
- You can update Integrations in the Paystand Dashboard.
- You know whether you want every Business Central customer, or only customers who have an outstanding receivable.
1. Open Customer sync filters
- Sign in to the Paystand Dashboard.
- Open Integrations.
- On the Business Central panel, find Customer sync filters.
- Confirm the description: Choose which Business Central customers Paystand imports automatically.
Existing connections show Import my full customer list selected.
The Customer sync filters card on the Business Central panel.
2. Limit automatic sync to open receivables
- Select Only customers with open receivables.
- Read the note: This changes automatic sync only. You can still import a specific customer or invoice. Existing customers are not removed.
- Select Save changes. The button stays disabled until the selection differs from what is already saved.
- In Apply Customer sync filters?, read that new Business Central customers are imported automatically only when they have an open receivable.
- Select Use open receivables only.
To leave the saved option unchanged, select Keep full list. The radios return to the saved choice.
Use open receivables only saves the limited option. Keep full list cancels the change.
3. Return to the full customer list
- On the same card, select Import my full customer list.
- Select Save changes.
Choosing the full list saves immediately. Apply Customer sync filters? appears only when you are switching to open receivables.
Verify
- Confirm the message Customer sync scope saved successfully.
- When limited sync is saved, the card shows Restricted sync is enabled for this integration and the note Automatic sync is limited to customers with open receivables. Existing customers stay in Paystand; specific imports still work.
- After the next sync, a Business Central customer who is new to Paystand and has an open receivable appears in Customers.
- A Business Central customer who is new to Paystand and has no open receivable does not appear from automatic sync. Import that customer or invoice yourself if you need them before an invoice is open.
- A customer who was already in Paystand is still there.

A Business Central customer did not appear in Paystand

Fix: Wait for the next sync, then check Customers again.
A customer is missing after you saved

Fix: Search Customers by name or customer number. If they were never imported, use the missing-customer steps above.
You see Could not save the customer sync scope
