The Paystand integration supports secure payment tokenization, allowing customers to store payment methods and reuse them later.

    • Only logged-in customers can save or reuse payment methods.
    • Guest checkout does not support token storage — guests must register or log in to save a payment method.

    • Paystand securely manages tokenized payment data — your BigCommerce store never handles raw card or bank details.
    • Tokens are linked to the payer’s Paystand ID, ensuring a consistent experience across future checkouts.

Token Retrieval

  • On future checkouts, previously saved payment methods become available automatically.

  • The purchaser can choose from their saved payment methods without re-entering sensitive payment details.

How to Store Tokens with BigCommerce

  1. Proceed to checkout

  2. Select Paystand and Choose Payment Method 

  3. Choose a payment method and fill in the required information

  4. Enter billing details

  5. Click Pay
    The method you used will be stored as a token.

  6. Fees and incentives are reflected in the Payment Method Fee

Important

  • The payment method used at checkout is stored automatically as a token once the transaction completes.
  • Stored methods appear for reuse during future checkouts for the same logged-in customer.

Using a Stored Token for Checkout

  1. Begin checkout and Choose Payment Method under the Paystand option

  2. You’ll see a list of your saved tokens. Select one to complete the transaction.

Storing Additional Payment Methods

  1. Through the Paystand modal, add a new payment method.

  2. Check the Save This Payment Method box, then complete the purchase.
