Set the Autopay Schedule and Retries

Autopay schedules and retries let payments run on time and recover from Autopay failures without manual follow-up. Set the daily time for autopay in the Paystand Dashboard. If Autopay fails, Automatic Payment Retries will attempt the saved payment method again on the selected cadence.

Follow this guide to enable it in your PS Dashboard.

Enable Payment Retries for Autopay

1. Click Settings

2. Click GENERAL

3. Switch the Enable Retry toggle to on.

Set Autopay Schedule Time

This setting determines the daily time when all Autopay transactions are processed. The time must be entered in Coordinated Universal Time (UTC).

Time zone reminder

  • Autopay schedule times are set in Coordinated Universal Time (UTC)
  • Convert the desired local time to UTC before saving the setting
  • Example: 2:00 AM Central Time = 08:00 UTC

Max Attempts:
This setting defines how often the system will attempt to process a failed Autopay transaction. The first attempt is counted, and the system will retry until it reaches the specified maximum.

For example, if set to 5, the system will attempt the transaction up to five times total (1 original + 4 retries).

Max retry limit

  • When the maximum number of attempts is reached, autopay stops retrying
  • After the final failed attempt, manual action is required to collect payment

Interval:
This setting determines how often the system should retry a failed Autopay transaction. Common options include Daily or Weekly, indicating the wait time between each attempt.

For example, if set to Daily and the first attempt fails on August 1, the next retry will occur on August 2.
