The PayStand integration implements secure payment tokenization to enable stored payment methods.
Requirements to save and reuse payment methods
- Logged-in required: Only logged-in payers can save and reuse payment methods
- Guest checkout: Guests cannot save payment methods. They must register and log in to store a token
Token Storage:
Payment methods are tokenized and stored by PayStand
Tokens are linked to the customer's PayStand payer ID
Magento stores only the payer ID reference, not sensitive payment data
Token Retrieval:
On subsequent checkouts, stored payment methods are automatically available
Payer can select from previously saved payment methods
No re-entry of sensitive payment information required
How to store tokens in Paystand Magento Plugin
1. Navigate to checkout
2. Click Pay with Paystand
3. Select a Payment Method and fill in the details
4. Click Enter Billing Information
5. Click Pay
The payment method used will be saved as a token
6. Click on Order No.
7. Fees and incentives are reflected in the Paystand Adjustment
Shop with a stored token
- Select Pay with Paystand, and a list of saved tokens will appear
2. A list of saved tokens will appear that you can select to complete the order
Store additional Payment Methods
1. Add new tokens using the Paystand Modal
2. Click the Save This Payment Method field and complete the purchase
