What Is Smart Check?
Smart Check is a fully digital replacement for paper checks that allows payers to submit check payments online in just a few clicks. With Smart Check, there's no need to mail physical checks or scan documents manually.
Instead, payers simply:
- Select Smart Check as a payment method,
- Upload or scan a picture of their physical check,
- Submit it digitally, and
- Instantly complete the payment via an ACH transfer powered by Paystand.
How It Works
- Payers will receive an invoice with Smart Check as an available payment method.
- They choose to scan a check using a mobile device or upload a check image from their computer.
- Paystand’s platform uses the image to securely extract payment details.
- The payment is processed electronically—no delays, no postage, and no manual deposit needed.
- A confirmation and receipt are sent automatically.
