Business Central Implementation Guide

To complete your Paystand integration with Business Central, your team must fill out the Business Central Settings Form shared during onboarding.

Completing this form before your kickoff call will help ensure a smooth and timely implementation.

Step-by-Step: User Provisioning and Permission Setup

1. Create a New Azure User

  • Log in to Azure Portal

  • Navigate to Microsoft Entra ID > Users

  • Click + New User

  • Set the User Principal Name to: implementations@yourcompany.com

  • Set the user type to Member

  • Assign the following roles:

    • Application Administrator

    • Dynamics 365 Administrator

  • Assign a Business Central license to the user

    • Search for the user you just created.
    • Click on the assigned licenses

    • Go to M365 Admin Center

    • Search for the user you just created
    • Click on Licenses and apps
    • Select, depending on your license, and save changes

      • Dynamics 365 Business Central Premium or

      • Dynamics 365 Business Central Essentials

  • Disable Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) for this user

    • Click on Account
    • Click on Manage Multifactor Authentification
    • Search and select the user you just created and disable MFA

2. Grant Permissions in Business Central

In both your Sandbox and Production environments:

  • Add the new user to all companies that will use Paystand

    • Go to users
    • Click on Update users from Microsoft 365
    • Search and select the user you just created.
  • Add all listed access by typing them in.

  • Assign the following permission sets to the user if your business does NOT use ERC Module:

    • AUTOMATE - EXEC

    • D365 BUS - FULL ACCESS

    • EDIT IN EXCEL - VIEW

    • LOCAL

    • SUPER

    • SECURITY
  • Additionally assign the following permission sets to the user if your business DOES use ERC Module:
    • AUTOMATE - EXEC

    • D365 BUS - FULL ACCESS

    • EDIT IN EXCEL - VIEW

    • ERC COMMON OBJECTS

    • ERC FDB SETUP

    • ERC FINANCIAL DSHBRD

    • ERC HAS SETUP

    • ERC HAS USER

3. Share Credentials Securely

Use Paystand’s Secure Share Application to send us the new user credentials:

  • Go to the Secure Share App

  • Paste the username and password in the text box

  • Click Send to generate a secure link

  • Paste the generated URL into Step 11 of the Business Central Settings Form
